Hardy Shaw, chair of the Indigo Foundation board, presented the foundation’s quarterly report on behalf of executive director Emily Moore (on vacation). Shaw announced a new foundation website launched earlier in June to host original content and support fundraising and social media outreach and described the swag store (launched June 11) and an annual impact report distributed to donors.
"This is a new website that Indigo Foundation launched earlier this month, and the website allows us to have the platform for more original content," Shaw said. He reported the foundation has recorded $177,789 in actuals toward a $1,000,000 fundraising bucket and outlined an endowment feasibility study and other strategic-planning steps. Board members asked for follow-up detail on outstanding grant solicitations (about $770,000 reported as pending in the packet) and requested a simple breakdown of mailing and email solicitation costs and revenues in a future packet.
Shaw said the foundation is evaluating whether the swag store should continue and asked the boards to consider a joint meeting in the fall to review study findings and align strategy between Indigo and the foundation.
