The Metropolitan Development Commission met on June 17, 2026, and approved the June 3 meeting minutes, took up six policy resolutions and approved a set of zoning petitions recommended by staff. The acting commission president convened the meeting and the clerk recorded roll-call votes.
The commission acknowledged a petition withdrawal for 2026 ZON023 at 5436 Brookville Road after staff said the petitioner had submitted a withdrawal letter. The commission then heard readings of six policy resolutions, moved to continue resolution 2026 R018 to the July 1 hearing and approved five resolutions as a group, including a contract extension and economic revitalization requests. "Minutes have been approved," the acting commission president said after the roll call.
Staff read ten zoning petitions recommended for approval (addresses included 7979 Shadeland Avenue; 456 South Emerson Avenue; 1719 Roosevelt Avenue; 4200 South Harding Street; 23 Woodland Drive; 1258 Windsor Street; properties on Walker Place; 1440 East County Line Road; and 5849 Crittendon Avenue). The commission adopted the zoning recommendations as a group. Several commissioners recorded recusals on specific items: Commissioner Herget recused on item 11 (2026 CZN033/2026CZN819), Commissioner Lyle recused on items 11 and 12 (2026ZON033 and 2026ZON036), Commissioner West recused on 2026CZN817 (item 15), and Murphy recused on 2026CZN819 (5849 Crittendon Avenue). The remainder of the petitions were approved and adopted.
The meeting adjourned after the votes were recorded.
