The Geneseo Central School District board opened its Nov. 3 meeting by announcing the community is "in a bit of mourning" following the death of teacher Katie Renner. Chair asked attendees to "join Superintendent Bostwick and myself in a moment of remembrance for Katie and her family."
Superintendent Bostwick described counseling, quiet spaces and larger gathering opportunities made available to students and staff, saying the district "provided opportunities for quiet spaces, opportunities for larger gathering spaces, sharing memories" to support those affected. Bostwick praised staff and leadership for their response and said the district will continue to offer supports in the coming days.
