MCDC approves $1.177M Parks & Recreation request for master plan, ADA work and equipment

Amy Kinkade, director of Parks and Recreation, presented a project request totaling $1,177,920 covering a new park master plan ($400,000), ADA remediation ($200,000) and equipment/vehicles (~$577,920). Kinkade said the master plan is due for a full update and described a range of remediation work and new equipment needs.
Kinkade also told the board the city anticipates closing Erwin Park on Aug. 10 for renovation work and expects a roughly one‑year construction process. During the public hearing the board voted to close the hearing and approve the Parks & Recreation package at the meeting; motions and votes were cast to approve the item.
