Board authorizes $5.45M appropriation for Sile Road/bridge project and awards phase‑3 engineering contract

Staff told the board the Sile Road and bridge replacement project is approaching land acquisition completion and scheduled for a March letting. "In general, the construction cost will be paid by IDOT up front, and then we will reimburse for our portion of the project," staff said while requesting the LPA appropriation resolution in the amount of $5,448,003. The board approved the appropriation by roll call.
In a related procurement, staff recommended awarding phase‑3 construction oversight services to Seabelt through a qualifications‑based selection process for an amount not to exceed $1,195,000; staff said the proposal falls under the project's FY budget for construction oversight and that STP funding will cover roughly 80% of bridge construction engineering. The board approved the engineering services agreement.
