Resident urges city action after repeated damaged garbage cans

Mayor Travis Mote said the city has received multiple complaints about a lower-quality batch of cans and that staff has been logging incidents. He told the council he had emailed the garbage collection company and indicated that "if the city must replace damaged cans, I will deduct the cost from their bill." City Manager Jeremy Kimpton said changing ownership structure would be difficult because residents previously purchased the cans but agreed the issue needs a policy solution; the item will be on the next meeting agenda for further action.
