Lake Hallie commission recommends one-year 2026 contract with Visit Eau Claire for DMO services

At a special meeting on Dec. 10, 2025, the Lake Hallie Parks, Recreation and Tourism Commission voted to recommend that the Village Board approve a one-year contract with Visit Eau Claire to provide destination marketing organization (DMO) services for 2026.
Commission negotiators — Mr. Danielson, Ms. Normand and Ms. Leibke — told the commission they had discussed proposals from two DMOs, Go Chippewa Falls and Visit Eau Claire, and concluded the current arrangement was not meeting the village's needs. Commissioners cited a lack of collaboration, weak lead generation and limited follow-through from the current DMO as reasons to seek a change.
The motion, made by "Mik" and seconded by Ms. Normand, included a condition that the commission will review Visit Eau Claire's performance and discuss a potential three-year contract at the commission's October 2026 meeting "based on facts from progress and results year to date." The motion "carried with no objection," according to the meeting minutes; Ms. Squires and Mr. Stelter abstained from the discussion and the vote. The recommendation will be presented for final approval at the Village Board meeting on Dec. 15, 2025.
The meeting was called to order at 11:02 a.m. under Chapter 19.84 of the Wisconsin State Statutes and adjourned at 11:38 a.m. The meeting notice was posted Dec. 9, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. and distributed to local media outlets and committee members by the Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer.
