President Richard Samples told trustees that demolition of the house at 1515 S. Main began earlier but had to be paused after the former owner filed for bankruptcy. Samples reported the bankruptcy case was thrown out and that demolition will begin again on Nov. 15.
Code Enforcement Officer Cindy Beddingfield said staff attended court on related nuisance matters; she reported that one property near Circle K was cleaned up but remains uninhabitable and that a defendant's fine increased from $200 to $400 during court proceedings.
