South Jacksonville public works seeks truck, pond maintenance; parking for new Coronado park flagged
Summary
Public Works Superintendent Brian English told trustees the village needs a winter truck and recommends annual pond cleaning; he estimated a new truck at about $75,000 or a used unit at $35,000–$38,000 and noted recent water-plant pump upgrades. The Board also discussed parking arrangements for the new park at 901 Coronado and whether a parking ordinance is required.

Public Works Superintendent Brian English updated the Committee of the Whole on maintenance needs and equipment at the Nov. 21 meeting, recommending regular pond cleaning and replacement or reassignment of out-of-service trucks.
English said two Village trucks are currently out of commission and that "a new truck would be around $75,000 but he could potentially purchase a used truck for around $35-38,000." Trustees asked whether vehicle purchases were budgeted; Treasurer Olson said the truck is not currently in the budget and staff will investigate funding options. English also noted that new pumps have been installed at the water plant and recommended ongoing maintenance.
Trustee Paula Belobrajdic-Stewart raised a question about parking for the planned park at 901 Coronado. Police Chief Eric Hansell said the village would need to establish street parking by ordinance and obtain board approval before designating on-street parking for park users: "The street parking would need to be set up by ordinance and approved by the Board." Trustees directed staff to explore options and potential costs; no procurement motion was made at the meeting.
