Somonauk board review finds district policies ready to present; one policy set aside for further discussion

Somonauk Community Unit School District No. 432 held a policy meeting on Aug. 19, 2025, to review the district's policies. The session convened at 5:27 p.m.; district staff reported that multiple policies had been reviewed and were ready to be presented to the Board of Education.
The packet reviewed included policy numbers across governance, operations and student conduct (examples listed by staff included 1:10, 1:20, 1:30, 2:10, 2:80, 2:130, 2:240, 3:30, 4:50, 4:55, 4:180, 7:90, 7:130, 7:140, 7:300, 7:325, 8:80 and 8:110). Staff noted that Policy 7:40, titled “Nonpublic School Students, Including Parochial and Home‑Schooled Students,” requires additional review by the full Board before being finalized for presentation. Superintendent Jay Streicher was recorded as present for the meeting. The work session adjourned at 6:14 p.m.
