The board moved to waive second readings and approve a package of policies listed on the agenda, with one exception: policy 7:40, "Nonpublic School Students, Including Parochial and Home‑Schooled Students," was pulled for further consideration. Board Member Nick Deacon reported the policy committee sought guidance on whether students who reside in the district but do not attend district schools should be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities; the board agreed to review that question and vote on 7:40 in September.
The motion to waive and approve the policies except 7:40 passed (motion by Mike Short; second by Erik Wold). The board did not adopt a revised 7:40 at this meeting and left the question open for the full board to decide next month.
