City staff presented a first reading of minor text amendments to the Unified Development Code (UDC) that were developed in prior joint Planning Commission–council sessions and subsequent work sessions.
Community Development Director Morton said the packet shows the original proposed changes in red and more recent edits in blue and noted council considered an earlier version in the fall. The amendments were characterized at the meeting as primarily “tightenings” to the code. Staff emphasized this was a first read; the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on July 10 and the council will consider the item again at an August 5 public hearing.
No action was taken at the meeting beyond the first read. Council members were invited to direct follow-up questions to the consultants or staff prior to the Planning Commission hearing.
