Darlene Hale, the county's IT representative, told commissioners she obtained two quotes to renew copier/printer services and recommended staying with Kemp's Office City under the $38,000 renewal because it includes a higher allowance for color copies. "The $38,000 contract is closer to our true numbers; we will be installing software on the equipment for actual counts," she said, and noted funding exists in the IT budget.
Commissioner Joe Haney moved to approve the $38,000 renewal; President Steve Holifield seconded and the motion carried 2-0. Hale said the county has experienced color-copy overages in the past and the larger allotment should reduce surprise charges.
