Angie Davis, LaPorte County Facilities Director, told the Board of Commissioners that the courthouse is operating on temporary cooling because parts shipments have lagged. "Forty thermistors were ordered, only 13 have come in so far to fix some of the indoor units," Davis said, adding that each unit requires two thermistors and that condensate pumps on the third floor need replacement.
Davis said one first-floor unit developed a leak after compressors were installed; the compressor was recharged and the vendor will return to assess remaining problems. She praised facilities staff and fair volunteers for helping with flag installations and ad hoc maintenance during the county fair. The board did not take formal action on procurement for the parts during the meeting; further repair scheduling will depend on vendor availability.
