The Idaho Board of Library Commissioners on June 11 reviewed recent grant awards, including Continuing Education grants and the Creative Aging program. Staff reported that for fiscal year 2026 the Continuing Education Grant program spent $41,000 of a $50,000 budget and that the board document lists all awards with the newest marked.
The board also recorded results from the Creative Aging Grant program, now in its third year and overseen by LeAnn Gelskey. Meeting minutes state there were 13 applications and 13 awards in the most recent round and that the program is run in partnership with the Idaho Commission on the Arts; "a professional artist is involved at each library that is awarded the grant," the minutes say. Commissioner Dawn Wittman asked whether the Creative Aging award is a one-time grant or repeatable; State Librarian Dylan Baker said it "could be repeated." The board did not record further action on these grants at the meeting.
