The Miami County clerk provided a post-primary update to the Board of County Commissioners, reporting 8,104 total ballots cast and a 30.86% voter turnout in the recent primary election.
"We had 8,104 ballots cast," the clerk said, adding that early voters numbered 2,151, 676 ballots were mailed out and 5,450 voters appeared at the polls. The clerk said 120 provisional ballots remain to be reviewed and that unofficial results have been posted on the county's official website.
The clerk reminded commissioners that the board of canvassers will meet on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026 at 9 a.m. in the county offices to review provisional ballots and certify the election results. She asked commissioners to notify the clerk's office of proxies if they cannot attend the canvas.
The clerk noted that while the election day process is complete, post‑election procedures continue in the clerk's office before results become official.
