Avon board approves hires, resignations and seasonal staff in consent agenda

On Aug. 12 the Avon Central School District Board of Education approved a broad consent agenda that included personnel actions and contracts. The motion, made by Steve Comeau and seconded by Beth Peck, passed 5-0 and covered items from board minutes approval (7/1/24) to an MOA with the ATA and a services contract with Kim Giambra.
Personnel items approved included resignations (Scott Forrest, Crystal Ryan, Shannon Ravert), the probationary appointment of Mackenzie Stickel and Megan Lewandowski as elementary teachers effective 8/29/24, the probationary appointment of Arielle Hadsell as a school social worker effective 8/29/24, the appointment of Scott Forrest as Business teacher (seniority and tenure restored), appointment of teacher aides and Extended School Year staff, substitute teacher appointments, student lifeguards, and several fall coaches and volunteers. The motion carried unanimously (5 Ayes, 0 Nays).
