City staff presented the annual public hearing and levy proceeding for the City’s Lighting and Landscaping Assessment District No. 1 for fiscal year 2026-27 and recommended adoption of two resolutions: one approving the final engineer’s report and another ordering the levy and collection of assessments on property tax bills to fund maintenance and operation of landscaping and lighting improvements.
The council opened the public hearing at 6:28 p.m., invited public comment and, seeing none, closed the hearing at 6:29 p.m. Staff emphasized that annual maintenance costs are fully funded through assessments placed on property tax bills, and that the district supports ongoing repair and operations. The council then moved, took roll call and approved the staff-recommended resolutions.
No public testimony was received during the hearing and staff said the proposed assessments would fully fund the district’s maintenance costs for the coming fiscal year.
