Staff recognized volunteer coach Nick Cibulka and thanked Craig Hoppus of the school district for volunteering to coach a fifth-grade boys' team; staff also named Grace and Haley O'Brien employees of the month for November and December.
Looking ahead, staff said registration is open for summer day camp and spring-break day camps, school swim lessons will start in February for Lewis and Clark students, and staff are planning events such as an Easter egg splash and a possible pool movie in June. Staff said lifeguard recruitment is a pressing need: they have posted flyers, reached out to high schools and colleges and used social media, but have seen only a small number of applicants so far.
