John Bach (Interstate Engineering, appearing via Zoom) had asked the board during the July 7 meeting for the letter of commitment. Staff explained the match requirement changed from 25% to a one-to-one match because the PER was designated a site-specific plan, creating a $5,000 gap between the $45,000 requested from CDBG and the $40,000 maximum available from RRG. "John will provide a template letter for the county’s commitment by the end of the day to meet the Friday application deadline," the minutes record, and the board authorized the presiding officer to sign that letter.
The board also heard project-related logistics: Commissioner Doug Marottek said he delivered maps to Brockton to help locate an elevator shutoff valve, and John Bach said valve replacement work and a preconstruction meeting are scheduled to begin Monday. The authorization at the July 7 meeting obligates the county to the $5,000 planning-match commitment; no additional funding approvals were recorded at that meeting.
