Sean Snider, representing SPJUSD, told the Loyalton City Council on Jan. 21 that the school district would be willing to work with the city on a possible purchase of the Loyalton Social Hall.
The request came as a timed item on the council agenda. Snider asked the city to open a line of communication so the district and city staff could explore whether a transaction or other cooperative arrangement would be feasible. The council did not take formal action on the request at the meeting and no ordinance, purchase agreement or timeline was presented.
The item was noted on the agenda for council information; staff or council members may return the matter to a future agenda if they decide to pursue negotiations or a public hearing. City Clerk Kathy LeBlanc previously announced that the final Housing Element will appear on a future agenda, signifying additional community planning items are pending.
