TMAPC approves consent agenda with sign- and setback amendments

Among the items, an amendment to PUD‑530 would add a second identification sign and permit a freestanding sign up to 28 feet tall to be placed on an existing clock tower structure; staff noted the sign will also require Tulsa Preservation Commission review because the site is within a historic‑preservation overlay. The commission also approved PUD‑793‑2, which reduces the required 20‑foot street setback by 2.5 feet for a single lot to resolve a construction encroachment, and PUD‑541‑11, which reduces a 5‑foot side setback to 3'6" to legalize a chimney built in 1997.
Separately, the commission approved a minor amendment to Z‑7008‑SP‑1 to increase allowable dynamic display area for an existing convenience‑store site from a single 48‑sq‑ft display to two displays totaling 102 sq ft (75 sq ft on the center identification sign, 27 sq ft on the freestanding sign) to permit static alphanumeric gas‑price displays under Chapter 60 rules. Staff said the displays would be limited to alphanumeric characters and would not include animated graphics. The consensus vote on the consent agenda was recorded as 9‑0‑0.
