Trustees voted to pursue a playground equipment grant and authorized a funding cap for ballpark equipment, and they set a fireworks budget for next year.
Parks & Recreation coordinator (speaker 11) said the village qualified for a playground grant that would cover nearly half the cost and presented two playground quotes (about $48,199 and a similar second option). "We did qualify for the grant, so we would get, it's not quite 50%, but it's close," the coordinator said. Chair (speaker 2) moved to authorize up to $60,000 for ballpark playground equipment; trustees approved the motion by roll call.
Separately, staff presented three fireworks vendor quotes and recommended budgeting to avoid price increases caused by tariffs; trustees moved and approved a $25,000 authorization for fireworks to ensure options remain available if vendor prices increase.
