Ray Green, speaking as the Van Pelt representative, reported construction progress on two capital projects. He said the Tallmadge Gym is finishing work and that a parapet cap material order of roughly $100,000 has been fabricated and is being installed, which will close out that project. “The vendor was cautious about ordering parapet cap because it's about a $100,000 of the material,” he said.
Green said the middle-school gym project is about 85% through Division of the State Architect (DSA) review and, if soil testing and approvals proceed as expected, an April start is possible. He noted suspect soil between about 4 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 7 inches deep that may require additional borings and testing before construction can proceed. The board asked clarifying questions about timelines and cost exposures; Green said he would return with final financials and a notice of completion when Tallmadge is closed out.
