Board approves routine resolutions, authorizes $60,000 settlement and several purchases

The Seneca Falls Town Board considered and voted on a slate of routine resolutions in new business. Actions recorded include tabling a service agreement for further research, approving a provisional clerical appointment, authorizing purchase of chemical pumps for the wastewater treatment plant, and purchasing additional service hours for an integrated system. A public-safety visual-intelligence software item was discussed as grant-funded and the board noted it was paid for by a grant.
Notably, the board adopted a resolution authorizing a settlement of litigation by paying $60,000 and authorized the town supervisor to sign settlement documents necessary to resolve the action. The supervisor read the resolution language that the town would "resolve this action by paying the $60,000 Jamie put forward and authorize the supervisor to execute a settlement agreement with those terms." Several other administrative resolutions (sidewalk reimbursement program, skate-park ramp surplus, water-lease and pool credits) were approved on voice votes.
Most items were carried by voice vote with "Aye" recorded on the public record; where an item was tabled, board members requested additional research and pending paperwork. The board also moved to pay the town's bills and then proposed an executive session to discuss pending litigation and personnel matters.
