The Manistee County Ways & Means Committee recorded the following formal recommendations and outcomes on May 6: approvals of April on-demand checks and payroll totaling $2,140,811.19; a recommendation to impose the county-allocated 2026 summer tax levy at 5.4052 mills (Resolution 2026-5); approval of a Humane Society lease renewal; approval of a zoning administration contract with Maple Grove Township (annual fee $6,500); and approvals to purchase a Widmer T2E embosser ($6,424) and a Widmer T-LED-3 time/date stamper ($1,148), both paid from the CPL Fund.
All recorded motions were approved unanimously by the committee members present (Eric Gustad, Jeff Dontz and Richard Schmidt). The committee placed supporting appendices and vendor quotes on file for each action.
