The Manistee County Ways & Means Committee on May 6 accepted on-demand checks, ACH payments and payroll for April that together totaled $2,140,811.19. Finance Officer Susan Zielinski presented the monthly Claiming Summaries and the on-demand report covering April 1through April 30, 2026, showing fund-level totals (for example, General Fund checks/ACH of $281,402.68 and airport authority on-demand of $639,434.01 in the packet).
Ms. Zielinski also presented a mid-year budget review. After seven months of operations the county had used roughly 58% of appropriations, which she described as consistent with expectations at this point in the fiscal year. The committee placed the detailed GL and invoice distribution (Appendix A) on file for further inspection. Following discussion Richard Schmidt moved and Jeff Dontz seconded recommending approval of the checks and payroll; the motion carried, with the minutes recording "Ayes: All."
