The Camden Central School District Board of Education voted unanimously Nov. 13 to authorize and ratify the commencement of a lawsuit in State Supreme Court against Karl R. Keil Jr. of Camden, New York, and directed district counsel to pursue recovery of funds the board says were paid to Keil as a result of actions that damaged the district. The motion was moved by Mr. Petrie and seconded by Mr. Carpenter and carried on a unanimous vote.
The resolution was presented "upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools," according to the meeting record, which instructs counsel to take "all necessary, appropriate steps to promptly pursue the collection of the funds paid to Karl R. Keil Jr." The special meeting began at 5:00 p.m. at Camden High School and the board took the action as its sole substantive item before adjourning at 5:02 p.m.
