Byron‑Bergen board approves retirements, hires, new course and position
Summary
The board accepted two retirements effective June 30, 2025, approved spring coaching appointments and hires (including a swimming program director effective 3/14/25), created an additional Senior Building Maintenance Mechanic position, and approved a mentor MOA with the faculty association.
The board approved personnel actions including the retirements of Katherine Merritt (math teacher) and Jeanne Rivera (Spanish teacher), both effective June 30, 2025, and a slate of spring coaches and advisors for track, golf, baseball, softball, tennis and other activities.
Appointments approved included Sara Stockwell as Swimming Program Director (effective March 14, 2025) and Kennedy Beverly as a teacher aide (effective March 17, 2025). The board also approved creation of an Additional Senior Building Maintenance Mechanic position and authorized the General Education Work Experience (GEWEP) new course.
Separately the board approved a memorandum of agreement with the Byron‑Bergen Faculty Association covering a mentor program. Where motions were recorded, votes were unanimous among members present (6 Yes, 0 No).
