Council issues proclamations recognizing students, health center and youth soccer champions

At the beginning of the Aug. 4 meeting, Mayor Tim Short read several proclamations. Two delegates, Libby Harp and Shanna Miller, were recognized for representing Wichita Falls at American Legion Auxiliary Texas Bluebonnet Girls State; the mayor presented certificates and invited photos. A Community Health Care Center representative accepted a proclamation designating August 2026 as National Health Center Week and thanked the council for recognizing the center’s regional service to more than 32,000 patients.
The mayor also presented a proclamation honoring the Falls Town FC 07/08 girls team for winning a national championship on July 11, 2026, and the team accepted certificates and offered brief comments of thanks. Councilors used the recognitions to note quality‑of‑life contributions in Wichita Falls.
