The South Strabane Township Planning Commission voted to recommend final approval of an amended land‑development plan and planned residential development (PRD) for Burkett Manor (PA Finance), subject to the applicant obtaining outstanding third‑party permits, including an incidental mining permit. Jonathan Gocheski, project manager for Gateway Engineers, said the team addressed prior review comments and resubmitted revised plans, noting additions such as a crosswalk at Black Oak and Redbud and storm‑sewer revisions.
Township staff reported the June 23 follow‑up review found two remaining minor items that were corrected and recommended reapproval with conditions. "We did address those comments, resubmitted those back to the township," Gocheski said. A staff representative recommended approval "with the condition that they obtain their incidental mine mining permit needed to do the work they are proposing to do in the second phase." The commission then moved, seconded and voted to recommend the amended plan to the board of supervisors; the motion carried.
