Fabian told the council the Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval and that staff mailed 11 notices to adjacent property owners with one returned in favor. After a public hearing with no speakers from the public, council members asked whether the change was permanent and whether the proposed expansion would be built to standard; staff confirmed it was intended as a permanent rezoning and that the park would be built to applicable standards. The council closed the hearing, moved, seconded, and voted to approve the rezoning request.
