Saratoga Springs Civil Service Commission approves a slate of provisional and noncompetitive hires

Chairperson Tim Holmes opened the Aug. 28 meeting of the Saratoga Springs Civil Service Commission and said, "This is the meeting of the Saratoga Springs Civil Service Commission of 08/28/2024." The commission moved quickly through a brief agenda and approved a series of provisional and noncompetitive appointments across city departments and the school district.
The approvals included a noncompetitive appointment for one building maintenance mechanic for the Housing Authority, a provisional appointment for a senior electrician in the Department of Public Works, several seasonal and part-time recreation hires, and multiple school-district appointments (including IT support provisional hires and noncompetitive clerks, cooks, custodians, registered professional nurses and bus drivers). The meeting also recorded a short leave of absence for an engineering technician and the approval of a single school monitor in the labor class. The commission carried the July minutes to the next meeting because they were not finalized.
