Interim Administrator Mike Sepic answered questions from the Berrien County Administration Committee about Resolution A2605209, a contract with Correctional Health Care for medical services at the Juvenile Center. Sepic noted the company "has been contracted with the County since 2012" and said the county has been renewing the contract annually with changes only to cost and dates.
Sepic told the committee the Trial Court will visit the Administration Committee in late June to address the service and "the possibility of going out to bid for it." After discussion, the committee agreed to move the resolution to the full Board of Commissioners as an added resolution. No final procurement decision was made at this meeting; the June visit by the Trial Court was identified as the next step.
The transcript does not include a motion or vote tally for the referral; officials recorded agreement to forward the item for full-board consideration.
