Students win local and statewide honors in 'Escaping Vaping' poster contest

Sunita Singh of Northeast Georgia Medical Center — Barrow announced cash awards for local winners and Laurel/Rotary involvement in selecting district representatives. "By the way, my name is Sunita Singh, and I'm the community relations program manager for our Southern Market," Singh said while presenting local winners that included Caitlin Zapata, Charlie Stowe and Landon Mathis.
Lauren Chamblin, identified as senior director of programming for the Georgia Healthy Family Alliance, said the statewide contest drew hundreds of entries and that two of the state's top three winners this year came from Barrow County. She also announced a new element: each participating Title I elementary school will receive a $100 stipend, with the requirement that schools return post‑evaluation surveys.
