Vendor presents phased playground plan; board asks questions but takes no action

Tim Shelton, sales representative for Team Reil, Inc., presented an SCES playground proposal developed with input from SCES staff and the SCES Parents Club. Shelton outlined a main play structure, new swings and smaller structures integrated around three existing safe units, described safety-zone layout constraints, and offered a phased build option to meet budget needs as well as a community-build approach involving 10–12 volunteers under vendor guidance.
Board members and administrators asked Shelton about warranties, industry standards, grant funding opportunities, ordering and delivery time frames, and phased installation. Principal Emily Mastin and staff had observed recess usage to inform the layout; the board took no formal action on the proposal at the Feb. 17 meeting.
