The Stark County CUSD 100 Board of Education on Jan. 20 approved the district’s 2026–27 school calendar following a unanimous recommendation from the district’s calendar committee.
Superintendent Brett Elliott presented the committee-recommended calendar, noting teacher institutes on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 17–18, 2026, and the first day of school for students on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026. The calendar includes early-release Wednesdays, scheduled conference days in October, the Thanksgiving and winter breaks, a spring break that includes Easter, and emergency make-up dates in late May and early June. "First Day of School for Students: Wednesday, August 19th," the presented calendar notes.
Board member Erin Price made the motion to adopt the calendar; Bruce West seconded. The motion passed on a 6–0 vote. The board treated the item as an action this meeting because the calendar closely mirrored the current year and the calendar committee voted unanimously to recommend it.
The board will file the calendar as adopted; graduation and eighth-grade promotion dates listed in the proposal will be formally approved at a later meeting.
