District reviews draft snow routes, hears SCCI housing update and records bus-driver resignation

Transportation Director Toni Nowlan presented a draft of temporary snow-route pick-up and drop-off locations that would be used when roads are challenging or if the district faces a driver shortage; the draft would require parents to transport children to designated locations when applicable and was provided to the board for input with approval expected in November.
Superintendent Brett Elliott described SCCI (Stark Council for Continuous Improvement) housing development efforts that include a new subdivision, day care center, and senior living, and encouraged community members and leaders to participate in SCCI efforts to support local growth.
During Executive Session minutes approval and reconvening, the board recorded the resignation of transportation/bus driver Jim McMillen, effective Oct. 17, 2025. No other personnel actions were reported in the open minutes.
