Seneca Falls board members debated whether desktop computers requested for several departments should come from department budgets or from the town contingency (emergency) fund before voting to approve the purchase as amended.
Board members described past practice of replacing computers through a designated fund and noted some department machines are too old to run modern updates. One member argued for tabling to locate departmental budget lines; another said the staff need functioning machines now. The board amended the resolution so the purchase would be paid from the contingency fund and approved the amendment and then the amended resolution. The supervisor said the administration will follow up with detailed budget lines and that departments should plan a regular capital replacement line for future computers.
