The committee recommended confirmation of two appointments and three reappointments to the Seattle Center Advisory Commission and will send the slate to the Aug. 11 City Council meeting for final action.
Randy Engstrom and Mark Dieter introduced nominees and noted the commission's role in preserving Seattle Center as a civic and cultural hub. Michael Johnson said he leads the park experience team for Friends of Waterfront Park and offered to draw on that partnership: "I'm really excited to bring my expertise, and my insight into how we can improve and, better suit the city and a key, asset that's in the city that I've been a part of for my whole life." The clerk recorded three votes in favor and none opposed.
