"Initial information released to the public was inaccurate and not timely, and the press conference was held 5 hours after the shooting," he said, adding that Chief Barnes resigned at the mayor's request and that councilmembers have not received a full explanation for that decision. He urged continued collaboration with Seattle Center for after-action public-safety briefings and pledged to support rebuilding public trust.
