Trustees approved a two-part planning contract to create a strategic land-use plan and a broadband-inclusive comprehensive plan at a combined cost the presenter said was "$77,530." The consultant outlined two phases: an initial strategic land-use phase followed by a detailed comprehensive-plan phase with transportation, housing, community facilities and existing-conditions analysis; the first phase would run November to January with the second phase planned from February to July.
Board members asked about eligibility advantages and how the plan would inform future development reviews; staff said the plan is general in scope and would be used to guide developers and update the future land-use map. A motion to approve the agreement was made and supported by trustees during the meeting.
