He said the commission is coordinating with municipal departments, the Aquidneck Island Land Trust, state agencies and outside partners and that the plan will be vetted in one or more public forums before a council vote.
Council members thanked the commission for the work and emphasized that funding and follow-through will be essential to implementation. A council liaison urged that the commission ensure the plan’s recommendations include clear budget and scheduling guidance so the council can prioritize and fund projects once the plan is adopted.
