Police Chief Bobby Berndt told the council the department responded to 161 calls for service in May, issuing two citations and making two arrests; no parking tickets were issued that month. Berndt said Officer Tharaldson completed persuasion and de-escalation training and other POST prerequisites, and that Berndt attended DARE events with the sixth grade class and held a DARE graduation.
Berndt said the new police squad vehicle is ready to be picked up and that City Clerk Julie Roberts will take care of insurance. The department will return to its original schedule after temporarily working an amended schedule.
