Community Schools report, CLDS update and newcomer supports highlighted at D69 meeting

Liza Sullivan, Community Schools Development Director, presented the Community Schools Department’s Annual Impact Report covering July 2023–June 2024 and outlined services and upcoming events for 2024–25. Sullivan said the presentation slide deck will be posted after the Board meeting.
Veronica Gomez, Curriculum Coordinator, presented an update on the CLDS program including student demographics, ACCESS test results and achievement data; those materials will also be posted. Superintendent Dr. Margaret Clauson reported 31 parents attended the first Parent Cafe session, and that a Newcomer Family Welcome Program served 17 newcomer students the week before school to support their transition.
Administration reminded the Board that fall After School Clubs and After School Exploration will start Oct. 1, with approximately 15 clubs per school, and that the district welcomed mental health interns funded by the SBMH grant and four resident student teachers this school year.
