Sen. Villivalam-backed $100,000 grant to fund Madison Elementary arts classroom upgrades

Dr. Margaret Clauson told the Board the district received a $100,000 capital project grant from the office of Senator Ram Villivalam to update classroom spaces that support specials/arts at Madison Elementary School.
The funds are designated for flooring, lighting, cabinetry and sinks to ensure classrooms meet instructional needs. Administration said one classroom has already been upgraded and plans call for using the grant to renovate the remaining two designated arts/specials classrooms during Summer 2025.
Board materials note the grant is a communication received prior to the meeting; the administration will incorporate the project into capital planning for next summer.
