Board approves consent agenda: payments, hires, resignations and first-read policies

The Board unanimously approved the Aug. 20 consent agenda, which included payment of bills ($868,250.28 on June 30 and $1,682,299.12 on July 31), multiple personnel hires and resignations, leaves, an administrative contract for Veronica Gomez, and first readings of several policies.
It was moved by Mr. Dan Freeman and seconded by Dr. Mark Chao that the consent agenda for Aug. 20, 2024, be approved as listed; by roll call the motion carried unanimously (Ayes: Dembo, Chao, Perez, Freeman, Marsden, Cooley-Jones; Absent: Wisnewski).
The consent agenda included approval of minutes from the June 18 regular and closed meetings; payment of bills dated June 30, 2024 ($868,250.28) and July 31, 2024 ($1,682,299.12); multiple personnel items (new hires across Edison, Madison, Lincoln and districtwide; resignations and leaves of absence); and first readings of policy updates drawn from PRESS PLUS Issue 115. The Board also approved an administrative contract for Veronica Gomez as Curriculum Coordinator and scheduled a public hearing on the interfund transfer for Sept. 17.
Trustees recorded a unanimous roll-call vote to approve the consent agenda; no separate roll-call tallies for individual personnel items were read aloud during the meeting.
