Skokie SD 69 plans $1 million transfer to fund Madison construction work

Dr. Margaret Clauson reported the district completed renovations at Madison this summer (main group bathrooms, PreK/K wing flooring, kitchen ceilings, and staff lounge/restrooms) and that the work was funded with ESSER funds, a School Maintenance Project Grant and local funds. To pay for the summer Madison construction project, Dr. Clauson said the District will need to transfer $1,000,000 into the Capital Projects fund as a planned transfer.
A public hearing on the proposed interfund transfer will be scheduled for the Sept. 17 regular Board meeting; administration will provide public notice and the transfer will be included on the consent agenda at that meeting. The transfer was described as planned funding for approved summer work rather than a new unbudgeted expense.
