The Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency is expanding outreach and volunteer opportunities, Eva Barnett told the Conservation Advisory Council. She described a 25-hour volunteer training program launching in June that provides a certificate and asks volunteers to contribute roughly 25 hours across the year to support events, classes and festival zero-waste efforts.
Barnett also listed available services and events: free rental bins for festivals, an online "recyclopedia" covering about 150 common items, a recycling hotline and a schedule for household hazardous-waste collections (the first event noted as happening this weekend in New Paltz). She invited attendees to sign up for UCRRA's newsletter and to request free signage and stickers for local bins.
