The group said it had already raised about $2,000 through fundraisers and hoped county and city contributions would push the project past its target.
Commissioners asked about outreach and timing; Clark said the group was working on a field‑outreach plan and could meet shipping timelines if funded within about 7–10 days. Commissioners signaled support and discussed placing the request on a future agenda for formal consideration.
